If you wish to experience a different kind of artistic beauty, the Romanesque Normandy Abbey Route will take you to two of the most beautiful monasteries—the ruins of Jumièges and St. Wandrille, still home to a community of Benedictine monks.

Discover Normandy’s idyllic countryside along with some of its many famous gems in one of two ways. You’ll get to sample some of the delicious local products, including the cider and brandy, before visiting enchanting Honfleur, where the impressionist painters came to capture the beauty of the old port. For WWll history buffs, a visit to historic Arromanches and the D-Day landing beaches is a must. Watch a fascinating documentary at Arromanches 360° Circular Theater. Visit the Orsay Museum, where you’ll see some of the most famous impressionist and postimpressionist masterpieces from Monet, Van Gogh, Cézanne and countless others. You’ll then venture to Montmartre, a designated historic area that was home to Pissarro, Degas, Renoir and Picasso, to name just a few, during the 1800s. Its enchanting character and village-like charm are on full display as you wander through the streets to Sacré-Coeur Basilica and to Place du Tertre.
