Thursday, September 13 Welcome to Paris! Our group will meet at our hotel - bags will be stored and your host, Jackie will take you on walking tour of the quartier in which our hotel is located. You will then enjoy a fabulous welcome lunch on a patio (weather permitting- but we are sure it will be sunny!) overlooking the Eiffel Tower. Our afternoon will include an optional tour of the D'Orsay museum - specifically to get a glimpse of the Impressionist works located on the top floor galleries - you might also enjoy of quick view of the city through the famous "Clock" window! Others may choose to return to the hotel to unpack and rest up after travel. An evening walking tour towards and around Notre Dame and the Ile Saint Louis for the best sunsets in Paris. Jackie will help everyone find their perfect dinner option. Just after sunset we will take a Seine river cruise with a Champagne toast for our group of travelers!
Friday, September 14 Gardens and fabulous old Parisian streets - This morning will be about discovering some of Paris most beautiful settings. These are peaceful gems of color and shade - some are tucked away and others are extremely ordered with "showy" plantings. Our walking will take us through the Marais and through the Tuileries. We will lunch together in a garden setting.
Your afternoon is free for some personal shopping. Jackie and refer you to some of her favorite shopping streets or you can explore on your own. Another option is a private shopping guide - highly recommended if you have an itch for that just perfect couture item or just want a one-on-one experience.
Evening - Attend a concert in beautiful Saint Chapelle - one of the loveliest experiences - a chance to sit in the "jewelbox" setting of Saint Chapelle, surrounded by the stain glass windows and sparkling gold-leaf finishes, a rendition of Handel's Four Seasons (or similar repetoire) is performed by a stringed quartet.
Enjoy dinner at a wine bar with tapas small plates - all the rage right now - followed by a night cap at one of Paris' "Secret" bars. Often lauded for their difficult to find locations & known for their specialty cocktails.
